Statement
I am not concerned with everyday reality, politics, sex or religion –they are merely raw ingredients that need to be thoroughly cooked in the dark oven of subconscious, flavored with aromatic spices of one’s memoriesand finallysprinkled with allusions to art treasures of times past and present. I am not interested in the worldvisible to the naked eye, for one can only see with his eyes shut…
That is when we see the world not distortedby our own consciousness… the world of primal myths that become known to us through the early childhood experiences,the secret universe adorned with jewels of centuries of art history and framed by mysteries of collective subconscious…the world of dreams and hallucinations that invite titles like ‘Precise transplantation of Escher’s crystallinestructures onto the retina of 11-yr old girl who sat at the bus stop in the summer of 1986 looking somewhat likeEva Ionesco’. In that dimly lit world, a bogeyman with the face of Freud lives under your bed and snatches your
falling eyelashes, your parents’ clothes have furious sex in the closet, and a birthday cake looks like the headof the Cheshire Cat pretending to be one of John the! Baptist. All I do is exploring uncharted territories andcapturing surreal sights of this mysterious world.
