Artist Biography

Francesca De Santis, a.k.a. Francidy, was born in 1972 in Umbria, Italy and she's been producing computer-generated art since 1999. The computer is the only medium she used to create her art works. Her digital art is made of fractals, only.

Fractals are used in a figurative way: many of them melted together creating shapes, thick and sharpen, smooth and smoky, reminding us of roots, webs, leaves, rocks and anthropomorphic shapes, it's the successful result of grouping fractals according to the artist's own aesthetical feeling; also a meticulous search inside the genealogy of the shape throughout the power of details. In her web site http://www.francidy.com there is a 2002-study about insects and a digital section where the Electronic Creatures are. Imagon is the most recent section and it is a new study as a matter of perception.

Artist Statement

Systems described as "chaotic" are extremely susceptible to changes in initial conditions. As a result, small uncertainties in measurement are magnified over time, making chaotic systems predictable in principle but unpredictable in practice.
